SMD Resistor Code Calculator
Decode 3-digit, 4-digit, and EIA-96 SMD markings to resistance values — or find all matching codes from a value.
Select a marking type, then decode a code or enter a resistance value to find possible markings.
Marking reference
3-digit codes use two significant digits followed by a power-of-ten multiplier. Example: 472 = 47 × 10² = 4.7 kΩ.
Reading SMD resistor codes
Surface-mount resistors often use printed codes instead of color bands. 3- and 4-digit markings encode significant digits and a decimal multiplier; EIA-96 uses a compact two-digit plus letter system for 1% tolerance parts. Always confirm package size and manufacturer tolerance when ordering replacements.
